So What Do We Do?
Our Profession is known by many names. Some call us Private Detectives, others call us Private Investigators, Enquiry Agents, Surveillance Operatives and the list goes on. In short, we are all of these things. Below we hope to give you a rough idea of the services we offer. In doing so, it would be too intensive to list everything we do, so instead we will only put our most frequently used services.
For Private Clients, i-direct Investigations team of Private Investigators understand your concerns about privacy and these are natural. You are, after all, entrusting what can sometimes be your most personal and private concerns. Thats why i-direct Investigations, Private Detectives will NOT contact you by any other method than the one you give us and we will always make sure you are ok to talk so that we do not place you in an awkward situation.Your privacy always remains our utmost concern and at i-direct Investigations we pride ourselves on our integrity, honesty and the ability to give you the facts, however blunt, unlike some of our Competitors who tell you what you want to hear.
Our Services, both Corporate and Private Client include, but are not limited to: Covert Surveillance, Evidence Gathering, Tracing People and Business, Background Checks, and Full Bespoke Investigations.
Covert Surveillance Division
Covert Surveillance is one of our key business areas and we undertake regular monitoring of our Competitors pricing policies to ensure we can bring you a comprehensive surveillance service combining the best value for money and the highest standards. In our last batch of monitoring, which included making enquiries of Agencies, we found that many had increased their fees to around the £40 per hour per Agent mark for surveillance AND charged a mileage fee between 25p and 50p per mile per surveillance vehicle, both of which are charged as soon as the Agents leave their Offices. This led to a key decision being taken within our Surveillance Division to lower our own fees to £35 per hour per Agent and to scrap completely our per mile charges which can easily add up, especially if more than one visit is required to gain the evidence. For Example, a surveillance operation covering a 50 mile round trip with 2 Agents on 3 visits can potentially add a further £150 to your bill in mileage alone. To i-direct Investigations, the decision made by our Surveillance Division to implement a change to our pricing structure means we can stand out ahead of our Competitors and this just makes for good business sense. Our Surveillance Division will also show the passing of time in all surveillance video evidence so that you know we were there and vigilant. We have come across Competitors who will happy take a fee and produce no evidence stating that "Nothing happened whilst we were there". Can you be sure your Agent was there? With i-direct Investigations, not only can you be sure, but we give you the surveillance video evidence to prove it.
Our General Investigations Division works across the UK in such matters as Statement Taking, Locus Reporting and Evidence Gathering.
Statement TakingOur General Investigations Division takes Statements in both Civil and Criminal matters and begins by obtaining a contemporaneous handwritten signed Statement. This is then sent to our Reporting Unit who has the Statement transcribed and ensures all questions have been dealt with thoroughly. When this is done, the transcribed typed Statement is sent back to the Witness for agreement and signing. The reason we use this double Statement method is so that we secure the Statement from the Witness at the time of our visit but then so that all facts are checked and a more presentable, easy to read clearer copy is available for negotiations and use in Court. If the Witness does not send back the transcribed copy of the Statement, we still have the original handwritten signed copy of the contemporaneous Statement that can be used. Our Reporting Section will then draw your attention to any facts in the Statement that may be of particular interest in the case and will include our Agents Credibility and Reliability findings. This ensures you are given the best information to make an informed decision on your case. Where costs can be significant, i-direct Investigations ensure you have all the information at hand to avoid unnecessary cost implications.
Locus ReportingOur General Investigations Division also handles the Locus Reporting across the UK. A Locus Report can be an excellent tool for both Negotiations and Evidence in Court. Many of our Competitors believe it acceptable to present their Clients with hand drawn, often inaccurate plans of an accident scene at i-direct Investigations we consider this type of locus reporting to have little validity in helping you negotiate your case. i-direct Investigations know that a Locus Report should be a clear concise overview of the scene with measurements and a visual aid to understanding how an accident may have occurred. Not only do i-direct Investigations attend the scene to take measurements and photographs, but we also investigate within the local area to gain information such as whether the area is a known local blackspot, whether there are any local views on the scene and also to see if we can identify any credible Witnesses to the event who did not come forward at the time. Once the scene visit has taken place our Agent reports back to our General Investigations Division where our Reporting Unit takes the information, completes a Computer Drawn Plan of the location based on the measurements taken and the photographs and builds an effective booklet of evidence and report based on our findings to give you clear, concise, powerfully presented evidence to assist in negotiations and to help you put your case forward in Court, giving the Judge a better idea of what happened.
Evidence GatheringEvidence Gathering is a skill that involves not only gaining the facts and physical evidence, but being able to present that evidence in a manner which allows easy access to the facts. When presenting a case, wading through papers to get to your evidence is not something you want to spend time doing. Clearly presented evidence, logged and indexed will make finding those crucial details quicker, easier and project an air of professionalism. From initial gathering stages to presentation stages, i-direct Investigations take care to provide you with the best presentable evidence to assist you in your case.
Process ServersAt i-direct Investigations, our Process Serving Division is able to quickly and effectively Serve your legal documents. Our Process Servers are experienced and will go out of their way to ensure an effective service of Legal Documents takes place. Our Process Servers will complete two visits and substitute service if they are unable to meet with the subject of the serve, having left a letter of appointment at the first attempt. Our Process Servers then report back to our General Investigations Division, where an Affidavit of Service or Statement of Service is prepared and sent for swearing or signing respectively. We do not pass on the Affidavit fees for Process Serving, but rather absorb these into our main Process Serving Fees. In the event of incorrect information being sent to our Process Servers, we will charge a fee equal to 50% of the final fee at the time of instruction to cover the costs associated with the Process Servers travel and reporting.
Tracing ServicesIn addition, i-direct Investigations offer an inexpensive tracing service to track down individuals and businesses. The need for this type of service are many ranging from tracing Debtors and Debtor Companies, tracing old friends and relatives, tracing Witnesses and even tracing shareholders, many of whom move without informing their Insurance Companies. Many of our Legal and Insurance Clients use this service to track down Third Parties who have been involved in accidents but have provided details that are too brief or perhaps have even moved since the date of the accident and left no forwarding address.
